Since my motto for this year is "absorbtion and practice" i am going to try dedicating a day of blogging every week to sharing the things that inspire me. Some i try, others are just a treat for my eyeballs. You never know...they just may inspire you too :)
Things that always catch my eye are: color and rich layering. Stuff I'd love to do more with this year.
Here at teamBoo we are all about love, so we want todo all that we can to share it!
Therefore, any proceeds generated through your paid advertising on this site will be DONATED to various charities that will be featured right here! That way you get the word out for your product(s) or site and help others and raise awareness through its revenue...everybody wins!
Please contact me if you have any questions :) Thanks for your interest, friend! And for spreading the LOVE!
Even if i can't participate in fall, i can still play Halloween, right? This picture is my official kick off for this month that i've come to know as "October-when-so-much-is-planned-i-probably-won't-even-get-to-change-my-clothes-let-alone-enjoy-the-festivities-month." Ahhh it's gonna be a crazy.
Something i always remember though: eating. I wish i were one of those people that just forgot to eat when things got too busy ("oh whoopsie, i just lost 5 pounds chasing my kids around"...nobody is buying it Hollywood). Not me though. I'd be more likely to successfully eat a meatball sub with my (freak of nature) feet, standing on a ladder, with a nail gun, while nursing my kid, than to accidentally go without food. It's both a blessing and a curse.
Anyway, i will do my best to fill you in on my doings. Here are a few things I will be working on...
Don't get your hopes too high, most of these will be half A'd this year. I just got tooo many babies that keep wanting me to pay attention to them and stuff :) I'm gonna be a chicken with my head cut off. Wish me luck.
And I think it's safe to say we all love my little Sonny Delight.
You know you have thought about doing it. maybe you already have. Or maybe you worried I'd think it was lame (cause i make fun of most things) Maybe you're afraid i'd think you were obsessed with me and wanted to wear my skin. If so, please slap yourself in the face, and remember that teamBoo is about spreading the l♥ve, rather than being impressive (plus: i totally shanked it from Mila, remember??)
So pull those random blankets and ridiculous thrift store finds out of the laundry room, and create some "tummy time" artwork (we say "tummy" at our house, and "smoochies" and "bum"...you can take the mom away from the kids, but you can't take the kids out of the mommy?? wait, i mean you literally CAN...but you know what i mean, shut up). Anyway, the best part is you don't even need a defenseless baby to play!! You can use your defenseless kids, animals, or even significant others ;)
Here's an example of a awesome go getter who has already made it happen (and whose friend, who never thought I would see it, left a comment that totally dogged mine. HA! busted. ;) check it:
*And if your lucky, I might even make a prize for my fave...since i know how much you all LOVE my handywork (admit it, you were a little embarrassed for me) But i don't care cause practice makes perfect haters.
(but that's a big fat maybe, we could always just play for fun?)
now email me those entries (to teamboo2000@yahoo.com titled "my defenseless baby") so i can post them here!
ready, set, go...
(*when i was little we used to have to pay my mom a quarter each time we said "shut up." so now i only pull it out on special occasions. like here. to boss you around)
This picture is especially for Adam (baby daddy) who is not only a huge basketball fan, but a Phoenix Suns fan ta-boot. Although since we didn't have a Steve Nash wig (sick), we used an afro (cause that's a normal thing to have lying around?? actually we have three :) as a tribute to old school basketball with the short shorts and the knee high socks. As you can see from this picture sonny got completely into character...
The Exploratorium is definitely one of my favorite places as a kid. It is a must see if you are in San Fran. It was so inspiring! Optical illusions, floating in mirrors, bacteria artwork, drinking fountains made out of toilet seats...and you thought i didn't experiment ;)
but in my defense...it feels like i got hit in the crotch with a bat.
this post is mostly cause i know how sick you are of seeing my christmas tree when my page loads. I have lost that blogging feeling lately. But maybe I'm doing you a favor by resisting to post all my heartburn and sleeping woes....and profile shots where you may or may not feel obligated to say how non-enormous you think i look, so i just look like a big douche who's fishing for compliments ;)
If i were really sassy, i'd have painted a picture of my own self camouflaged into a pink room.
...but then i would have had to change out of my sweatpants.
well....just when you thought they couldn't be any cuter....here is another reason to envy their love . They drew us in with their yellow balloons and wedding headbands and now vow to keep us enchanted by their suspenders and innocent vintage picnic togetherness! It is no secret that I am in love with loving the love of these two...lovers. Or that my mind is (clearly) running on mere fumes every time I sit down to blog, and that the fusion of those two ingredients (not to mention my savage jealousy of all things un-pregnant) makes my brain feel swollen and tired.
Of course neither photo op would have been half as amazing if it weren't for Matt and Angie Sloan, the visionaries that make up Sloan photography (aka "Mangie") whose behind the scenes adorableness is enough to make me want to kick puppies. And their talent....oh the TALENT!! Hey Mangie...if you ever have any artistic vision for an out-of-breath-resentful-chubby-girl-in-maternity-pants photo shoot, you know where to find me ;) Or if you just have some advice on how to convince my husband to dress in something other than basketball clothes for the sake of a old world lovers photo shoot, that would work too. Here are a couple gems of inspiration to get to get your ball rolling...
you're welcome.
And Steoffrey...if you ever want to like...hang out, or even just let me sit on your couch while I watch you giggle and make frozen pizzas together...Mangie knows where to find me.
so any new adds to your blog roll/list of "team boo"

*sorry this wasn't a REAL post....but i had to put it out there, yo. Also watch this ...cause you can't say "fancy" without thinking of it...you just can't. ...and if you can, well, this friendship might not last.
In keeping with theme of "Mothers" i have been doing some thinking...{cause i always think in themes..??} Anyway, mothers are many things but one of my favorite things to be is a make believe maker. This does not necessarily come naturally for me, but i wake up daily hoping to brand it into my soul. Its my job, as a mama, but also as a human being. Its infectious and what makes the world go round, no?
An oldie but one of the besssst! This series has a much greater meaning now that i've birthed to two little sponges:
A recent dream job of mine would be that of a photo stylist...the perfect marriage of creative work and imaginative mommy play...i would die.
like simple and sweet...
raw and dreeeeamy. made by, none other than...a mommy!
{this blog is incredible by the way}...
Bonnie Holland's prolific work is over the top amazing! and obviously has the big bucks clients. regardless, i love everything she touches...
